Types of braces

With recent technological advances, braces are more discreet and efficient than ever before. We offer multiple modern braces options to our patients, from traditional metal to clear ceramic, and swift self-ligating brackets.

Braces

Metal braces

Metal braces

Metal braces are what most people picture when they hear the word “braces.” Metal braces are used to correct malocclusions of all complexities, from underbites to crossbites. Using metal brackets and wires - along with elastics - Dr Daniela will adjust the pressure on your teeth to gently guide them into the proper position.

The metal braces of today are smaller and more comfortable than the braces of the past. In addition, new heat-activated archwires use your own body heat to help your teeth move more quickly.

Ceramic braces

Ceramic braces

Ceramic braces are made from a clear material that helps them blend in with the colour of your teeth. They straighten your teeth in the same way as metal braces, but with added discretion. Our durable ceramic brackets are made from stain-resistant material, but extra care with oral hygiene is necessary to keep the elastics from staining.

Self-ligating braces

Self-ligating braces

With SmartClip™ self-ligating braces technology, the need for elastics has been eliminated altogether. This innovative clip system creates less friction and provides patients with a more comfortable experience. Better still, patients with SmartClip™ braces benefit from less adjustment appointments, reduced need for extractions, and shorter treatment times.
